Start your planning here!

Our number one piece of advice to help ensure you have a great Walt Disney World vacation is to do as much planning in advance as you can or feel you want to.

Putting the time in now to plan and construct your vacation before you leave for Orlando is absolutely crucial to getting the most out of your time and money when you’re there.

For every vacation there’s an element of planning (budget, dates, length of stay, flights, hotel, car, and so on), but with a Walt Disney World vacation there is so much more that can be planned before you leave to get the most out of your precious time away, as well as trimming some of the costs.

Sounds a bit of a chore?

Well, planning can also be fun! Over the years we’ve found it great to sit down together and plan our next Disney/Orlando adventure.

And you can plan as little or as much as you like. From just checking out our favoured providers to help save some money and get prepared for your vacation (for flights, hotels, rental houses, rental car and theme park tickets), all the way through to a full-on, spreadsheet-based itinerary and a list of food to buy at the local grocery store when you arrive!

Organising your Walt Disney World vacation can be a daunting task. You have so many choices to make in so many areas, but, hopefully, we’ll guide you through the choices and make recommendations based on our experience, likes and dislikes.

Setting a budget

The one area that we can’t provide any advice on is what your budget actually is!

Clearly this is pretty important in assessing some of the choices that you make when preparing to book your vacation.

However, we can, and do, start by giving you some pointers to help you get a feel for what a Walt Disney Vacation is going to cost.

You can also get a good idea of the costs involved in each of the vacation areas we take you through (flights, hotels, villas, cars and park tickets) by clicking on the various links provided in the respective sections and seeing the associated costs.

It’s also really useful to visit the primary Walt Disney World vacation package providers (including Disney itself), put in your initial dates and accommodation ideas, and see what the indicative package costs are.

We cover this in the very first step in planning your Disney vacation.

This will give you a good indicative vacation cost that can then be compared with your initial budget and provide you with a solid place to start your planning!

So, where to start?

We will take you through the various steps in booking your Walt Disney World vacation, in the order that they need to be completed. At the foot of each page (or from the top menu) you can then navigate to the next vacation element.

In our view, there are three distinct steps to your planning:
